Polish Airports, the operator of Warsaw Chopin Airport, the biggest airport in Poland, puts special emphasis on the comfort of disabled passengers. To this end we have worked closely with the Integracja Foundation.
Chopin Airport holds a BARRIER FREE certificate, fulfils all quality standards and makes sure that the infrastructure is properly adapted. To cater to the needs of disabled passengers we have introduced a number of improvements, which include dedicated paths before security checkpoints, free of charge assistance at the airport, starting from the reporting point, through check-in and screening, up to the moment the passenger takes a seat on the plane and the other way round.
Chopin Airport also holds an IDOL status, given to blind-friendly companies and bodies based on a vote among disabled passengers in a poll held by the Chance for the Blind Foundation. The voters appreciated the interactive sound maps, which make moving around the terminal easier for visually impaired travellers.
PPL is also a responsible employer. We have started working with the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities to advance the situation of disabled employees.
